This book is my first structured reading about Buddhism. It offers a gradual exciting introduction to what Buddhism is. It simplified the arguments yet maintained proper depth that integrates answers to the standard What, Why and How of any argument.Besides Buddhism the book introduces you to a positivist mode of thinking. This is probably my favorite part of the book where you get to face yourself and attempt to escape from the mental bondage that is almost self prescribed to a world where you can own your own perceptions.
The book also explains the foundations of the Buddhist world view. How it evolved and perhaps how some attempted to oversell it or turn it to a fad. This is critical as most of the input we get from the media is overly graphical and distorted.
The book is very readable. It avoids the use excessive rhetoric to get to the point. It would be a great companion on any flight or trip. It can help students with their school projects.
It is also my first Kindle book which was a very pleasant experience where I start reading one chapter on my Chrome Kindle app and finish it on my android phone. If you are an Apple fan you can do exactly the same with the IPad, IPhone apps.

I got a lot out of the first half of this book. I found myself reading words but missing the meaning in the last half. Alex says buddhist shouldn't pick and choose but buddha says to experience it for your self.
